Christmas Party

Since talking about the Christmas party on Wednesday I have decided it is a better idea to make it affordable for all cadets. I have booked one hour of Laser Tag (7 to 8pm) at Martlesham and you can have the whole hour in the soft play arena on the larger equipment. The lights are dimmed for laser effect and you can play in your flights. I have also booked one game of ‘Cosmic’ bowling as well (8.30pm). The cost for Laser Tag and Bowling will be £13.25. The bowling centre sells burgers and drinks and you can get a meal offer of a Burger/Nuggets etc, chips and soft drink for £3.50. We should get home around 10.30pm.

Show Ground Wednesday 18th July

All cadets to meet at 19:00hrs at the show ground tonight.  The land owner has insisted that we must clear the ground today so lets have as many of you as possible to make it easy for ourselves.  You can wear civvies or greens and you will need wellies or boots as it is muddy up there.  Dont forget your gloves for the rubbish clearance.  Get your parents to drop you off and pick you up inside the exhibitors entrance on the back Bromley road.

It’s that time of year again when we set up camp at the showground from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.  Bring along your food for the weekend and the BBQ for both nights.  Can you all bring a pair of strong gloves suitable for picking up rubbish; gardening gloves are probably the best.  The code of dress for Saturday 14th is Sqn T-shirts and greens, if you do not have a Sqn T-shirt then buy one now, they cost £5, the rest of the weekend will be in civvies.  We need as many of you as possible to attend, more hand make light work.

All cadets, please remember you are all needed for Sunday 8th June for the Wing Parade, to exclude those cadets who have already told me they will be away.  Transport will leave the Venture Centre 2000 approximately 07:00hrs. Uniform is No.1 dress but bring your jumpers and Jeltex coats with you in case it rains.  Check your uniform now and exchange for new if you need larger sizes.  Remember to bring a packed lunch as it will be a long day, you will not finish until around 16:30hrs.

Are you up for fun, adventure, incredible experiences and making new friends? Are you looking for something to give you the edge in life? Then welcome to the Air Cadet Organisation (ACO). Better known as the ‘Air Cadets’.  Our aims are to:

• Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people

• Provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life

• Encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship And there’s one more important thing – it’s a lot of fun!

Ready for a challenge?

As a cadet you’ll have the opportunity to do things that others only dream about. Want real flight experience? How about heading out on adventurous training and camps, sometimes overseas? Competitive sports, drill, shooting, music, abseiling, engineering projects?

Yes it’s a challenge, but that’s what life’s all about.

Let’s face it – where else would you be given the opportunity to fly solo in a glider or powered aircraft when you’re 17? Whatever you do with your life, at the end of your time as a cadet you’ll be self-motivated, confident and ready for anything.
