Flt Sgt Smith, the Squadron Training Officer, undertook intensive training this month at Llanbedr in North Wales to gain his BCU Two Star Award in Canoe and Kayake. The course was a one week structured theory and practical taking candidates to a competent solo skill level. The week cumilated in 10k trip, in force 5-6 winds up the River Afon Mawddach from the estuary at Barmouth to Penmaenpool.
